Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026
1. Who we are
SJMS (smartjobmanager.com) provides job management software for Australian trade and field service businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
- Account data: your name, email, business name and ABN.
- Business data you enter: customer contact details, job records, quotes, invoices, notes, photos and files.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and login timestamps for security.
- Location data: GPS coordinates only when a team member uses the check-in feature, recorded against that job.
3. How we use it
Solely to provide and secure the Service: operating your account, storing your business records, authenticating logins, and communicating with you about the Service. We do not sell personal information or use your business data for advertising.
4. Where data is stored
All application data is hosted in the AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney) region, Australia — database, file storage and servers. Limited technical data may transit overseas infrastructure (e.g. email delivery or code hosting providers) under appropriate safeguards.
5. Security
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing (bcrypt).
- Files are stored privately and served via short-lived signed links.
- Databases are backed up daily with point-in-time recovery.
6. Access, correction and deletion
You can access and correct your data in the app. To export your data, or to request deletion of your account and all associated data, email support@smartjobmanager.com. We action deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Your customers' information
When you store your customers' details in SJMS, you are the controller of that information and we process it on your behalf. You are responsible for collecting it lawfully and honouring your own privacy obligations to your customers.
8. Complaints and contact
Privacy questions or complaints: support@smartjobmanager.com. If you are unsatisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
